I’ve just cranked out a short story for an anthology workshop I am attending in a few weeks. It was easy! Weird to say that, but the story flowed. Before that, I plowed through 100 pages of the “Ghosts of Quantum City” rewrite for an editor at Roc who requested them from a query I sent her. Since I had three requests for three different book proposals, I panicked and shrieked “busted!” None of my four completed books are really in top form–all of them need re-editing. “Quantum City” in mediocre shape at best. My new dilemma: which book to get ready first and how much time shall I try to scam. . . .

Should have more problems like that, I suppose, in my late-life writing career.
