Yes, I am taking the plunge into the icy waters of National Novel Writing Month. Meaning, write a novel in a month month. November is the designated month in which thousands of people and their families go quietly insane.

I have notes about characters and plot. I just finished an online workshop in Magic Realism from Writer’s Rainbow. I am in the mood for something gothic and strange. Autumn weather and impending darkness do this to me every year.

2000 words a day for 30 days. November only has thirty days! We are one day short!

The nice thing is I will not be alone in the dark.dias_de_los_muertos

Heard a week ago that my short story, “The Alzheimer’s Book Club” received an Honorable Mention from Ellen Datlow, editor of The Best Horror of 2009. It’s a big list, but a great bunch of writers. The story can be found in the anthology, “Bound For Evil”, edited by Tom English of Dead Letter Press.
